Hello, can the auto generated Shabbos-Candle-Lighting-times emails have important notices in the SUBJECT LINE? Example, Parshas Zachor reminder in the SUBJECT line, same for parshas with the Ten Commandments

judys 5 years ago 0

Busy women who get the auto-generated weekly Shabbos Candle Lighting times emailed, only go so far as read the subject line that has the candle lighting time. They don't bother to open the email and read the body of the email because they are too busy, and are only concerned with the candle lighting time, which they can get from the Subject Line.

Therefore, it would be very helpful to have important notices added to the SUBJECT LINE of the email that women need to see, for example when it is Parshas Zachor, and Parshas that the Ten Commandments are read, or when an Eruv Tavshilin is needed.

I missed Parshsas Zachor, but wouldn't have if the SUBJECT LINE of the email included that information.

Can anybody help please with the exact dates for firstfruit / counting the omer and also after the promised land is entered how it affects unleavened bread (RE Lev 23:14)♥

azsabg 5 years ago updated by Jimhebert 1 year ago 3

i have made date wheels for the Hebrew and Gregorian Calendars. The Gregorian fits in the center of the Hebrew, and is spun round to adjust for the difference, each new year. Around the edge of the wheel i am adding the dates of the appointments, however everyone disagrees on the exact date of beginning to count the fifty days? Also, why would Leviticus 23:14 mention Lechem bread, being able to be eaten after offering, if this is read in English it sounds as if;

once the promise land is entered,

unleavened bread (Matzah) is only eaten until an offering is offered and then no more unleavened bread, making it only one day of eating unleavened bread. Love and blessings everyone, Arron. ♥

Important: remove hebcal from google calendar

Gary Aminoff 5 years ago updated 5 years ago 1

I want to remove Hebcal from my Google calendar.  I tried following the instructions posted by Hebcal, but they no longer work.  Hebcal is not shown as a separate calendar, but is integrated in my personal calendar.  How do I remove hebcal from my Google calendar?

Can one find parasha readings for a year for more than the 12 years listed under Torah (listed by each parasha)

Davack 6 years ago updated by Michael J. Radwin 4 years ago 1

One can see the list of Gregorian dates of each parasha for up to 2032.  I would like to see the parasha schedule for 2034 to 2037.  Is that possible on Hebcal?  On some other site?

Hi, thanks for using Hebcal, and thanks for your patience.

We recently added new "Parsha by year" pages like the following which list the Torah readings (both Shabbat and holiday) for an entire year:

Diaspora schedule:

Israel schedule:

How do I change the candle lighting time for Hong Kong and....

scoop 6 years ago updated 6 years ago 1
1. I would like to delete the title which is large and not needed since the times are already correct for Havdalah/Shabbat Ends
2. Change Havdalah to be "Shabbat Ends"
3. And most importantly change the candle lighting time - it is off by 4 minutes from what we use on our printed community Calendar and website
4. If I want changes in what is shown in the script below do i just remove pieces of the code like geo=geoname to kill the title "Shabbat times for Hong Kong, Central and Western, Hong Kong"- what is cfg?. Tried removing geo=geoname - leaving the geonameid - did not remove the title for me.

<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"
src="https://www.hebcal.com/shabbat/?geo=geoname&amp;geonameid=1819729&amp;m=33&amp;cfg=j&amp;tgt=_top">
</script>

5. Am not good with code do not think I will be able to follow the linked suggestions you have had for others - What i really need is your app (if you have one) for outside of the US.

Help - Thank you!!!

No Time Change for Illinois beginning Nov. 2020!!!

bwasserman 6 years ago 0

Heads up: the State of Illinois will no longer participate in Daylight Saving Time!  The time change next month (March) will be its last. The candle lighting times on your website for my Illinois town reflect the expected time change. How do I calculate the new candle lighting times (without moving back one hour) beginning Nov. 6, 2020?

https://www.hebcal.com/home/632/how-to-make-changes-to-a-yahrzeit-anniversary-calendar

This article describes how to make changes to a Yahrzeit + Anniversary calendar that you downloaded, exported or subscribed to in a calendar app like Outlook, Google Calendar / Android, or Apple (iOS, iPhone, iPad or Mac).

If you used Hebcal to create your personal calendar after August 2020 and you subscribed using the recommended feed option, you can click on the hebcal.com URL at the bottom of a calendar event. That link will take you back to the Yahrzeit and Anniversary calendar where you can make edits to each person’s name or dates.

If you subscribed before August 2020, you will need to delete or unsubscribe the calendar containing your yahrzeit and anniversary reminders. Hebcal personal event calendars created before this date do not support editing event dates or names. Directions for how to delete/remove a subscribed calendar vary by calendar application.

You may have downloaded yahrzeit/anniversary events and merged them into your regular personal calendar (often called “Home” or “Calendar”). To remove those events, search for the event(s) in your regular calendar and remove/delete them one at a time. These events will always have one of the following titles: “Yahrzeit”, “Hebrew Birthday” or “Hebrew Anniversary”.

Once you have removed the yahrzeit/anniversary calendar events, return to Hebcal.com and re-enter in all of the event details, then download again.
