Is there a way to add the moon cycles and eclipses?

Thanks for your question. We do not plan to offer moon cycles and eclipses. Hebcal's mission is to increase awareness of Jewish holidays and to help Jews to be observant of the mitzvot.

Calendars created by Hebcal are easily downloaded and imported into various calendar apps, including iPhone, Google Calendar, Outlook PC, Outlook Web, macOS Calendar, and any app that supports iCalendar (.ics) feeds or subscriptions.

Secular/American Holiday Dates

Ari Fridkis 3 months ago updated by Michael J. Radwin 3 months ago 1

Might HebCal offer the option TO ADD American/secular Holidays?  I use HebCal extensively ... so it would help to see those alongside the Jewish calendar.

Thanks for your question. We do not plan to offer USA or other country-specific holidays, nor do we plan to offer any secular holidays.

Google and other calendar software providers already offer United States holidays. You can subscribe to the United States holidays iCalendar feed here:

https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/en.usa%23holiday@group.v.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

And Apple similarly provides their own holiday calendar feed:

Russian Language in RSS

Юрий Крейчман 3 months ago updated by Michael J. Radwin 3 months ago 4

I use your RSS to display Shabbat times and the weekly portion. Previously, the information was in Russian, but now it's in English. Could you please change it so it's in Russian again?

Here's an example RSS link: https://www.hebcal.com/shabbat?cfg=r&geonameid=617239&ue=off&b=18&M=on&lg=ru&pubDate=0

Can't Change Name to Correct One

SaraMArnold 3 months ago updated by Michael J. Radwin 3 months ago 1

I have a Yahrzeit listed for my daughter, but it says Person1. I'd like it to have my daughter's name. How do I change this? I tried to edit the name in Google, your website, pretty much everywhere, and I can't seem to fix it. It's very upsetting. Can someone please help?

Change language

Hello,

I recently upgraded my iPhone and my herbcal calendar went from English to Hebrew. How can I get it back to English?

I do not read Hebrew.
I would appreciate your help. I love the Torah readings schedule & keeping up with the Hebrew dates in the calendar.

Thanks for your message. What you're seeing in iOS 26 is a feature of Apple's operating system called Alternate Calendars and not something that Hebcal.com controls.

If you don't wish to see the Hebrew date in Hebrew, you can disable the Hebrew calendar on iOS 26 following Apple's instructions:

Change how your calendar is displayed

You can customize the way your calendar is displayed to help highlight the information that’s most important to you. For example, you can choose which day you want to start the week with, display the Chinese, Hebrew, or Hijri calendar (alongside the Gregorian calendar), and more.

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Apps, then tap Calendar.
  3. Do any of the following:

    • Display the Chinese, Hebrew, or Hijri calendar: Tap Alternate Calendars, then choose a calendar.
    • Display the week number next to every week of the year: Turn on Week Numbers.
    • Show the current day as the first day in Week view: Turn on Week View Starts On Today.
    • Choose a different day to start the week: Tap Start Week On, then tap a day.

It seems there is an internal service error. I can't access any parshah except the current one. The error displayeed is "500 Internal Server Error" and I've checked on both my mobile device and laptop.

There seems to be a server error. I can't access any of the sedrot except for the current one, Lech Lecha. Clicking on any other Parshah leads to an error called "500 Internal Server Error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '0')".

Hope this helps, and thanks.

Hi, thanks for contacting us!

The Hebcal website and APIs support 13 different languages for event titles. By default, Hebcal uses Sephardic transliterations. To transliterate event titles in a different language, specify lg=LANG parameter using one of the following values listed on this page.

https://www.hebcal.com/home/4534/jewish-calendar-event-language-support

If you're seeing Ashkenazic transliterations, this means that your site is using lg=a or possibly a very old  a=on  API parameter.

Change to  lg=s   and remove any occurrences of  a=on  and you'll be all set!
