Candle lightning time is not updated.
Hi
it seems that it doesn’t matter what I put in the value for “time before sunset), the app always shows same time of candle lightning
And it is not the right one, in Jerusalem this shabat it should be 16:12 and not 16:07
please advice
no show on birthdays!
I recently, eagerly, added Hebrew birthdays to family members on my iPhone but some of them are showing up on the incorrect hebrew date or not showing up at all. It should be noted that the birthdays that were added in the past do not have this issue. How can I remedy this? Might it have something to do with a recent IOS update?
https://www.hebcal.com/home/632/how-to-make-changes-to-a-yahrzeit-anniversary-calendar
This article describes how to make changes to a Yahrzeit + Anniversary calendar that you downloaded, exported or subscribed to in a calendar app like Outlook, Google Calendar / Android, or Apple (iOS, iPhone, iPad or Mac).
If you used Hebcal to create your personal calendar after August 2020 and you subscribed using the recommended feed option, you can click on the hebcal.com URL at the bottom of a calendar event. That link will take you back to the Yahrzeit and Anniversary calendar where you can make edits to each person’s name or dates.
If you subscribed before August 2020, you will need to delete or unsubscribe the calendar containing your yahrzeit and anniversary reminders. Hebcal personal event calendars created before this date do not support editing event dates or names. Directions for how to delete/remove a subscribed calendar vary by calendar application.
You may have downloaded yahrzeit/anniversary events and merged them into your regular personal calendar (often called “Home” or “Calendar”). To remove those events, search for the event(s) in your regular calendar and remove/delete them one at a time. These events will always have one of the following titles: “Yahrzeit”, “Hebrew Birthday” or “Hebrew Anniversary”.
Once you have removed the yahrzeit/anniversary calendar events, return to Hebcal.com and re-enter in all of the event details, then download again.
The holiday days seem to be going into the next day as if that next day is also holiday.
The holiday days seem to be going into the next day as if that next day is also holiday.
This does not happen for candle lighting or havdalah.
1 Example ,The duration on outlook seems to be preset to 2 days. the event times goes from 10/9/2019 12:00am and ends 10/10/2109 12:00am . I would need to open the specific event "uncheck all day event" to correct this.
Hi Saul, thanks for being a long time Hebcal user and reporting this bug many years ago.
We were finally able to reproduce this error on Outlook 365 web. We made two changes to our iCalendar feeds to fix the problem for you:
1. Our .ics feeds so they include X-MICROSOFT-CDO-ALLDAYEVENT:TRUE which according to some Microsoft documentation might fix the problem.
2. Our VTIMEZONE implementation for Asia/Jerusalem (the timezone that is used throughout Israel) has been modified so it only uses a simpler, current Daylight Saving Time rules (which clocks are advanced by one hour, beginning on the Friday before the last Sunday of March, and ending on the last Sunday of October). This is perfectly accurate for any calendars 2013 and later (when the Israeli government standardized and simplified DST rules).
Shana Tova!

Tish'a B'Av 5779 seems to be on 20190810
Per the Date Converter, Tish'a B'Av 5779 seems to be on 20190810, and not 20190811, as indicated on at the Holiday pages, https://www.hebcal.com/holidays/tisha-bav. Will someone please investigate and fix if applicable?
When the 9th of Av falls on Shabbat and the Tish’a B’Av fast is postponed to the 10th, the calendar event now says “Tish’a B’Av (observed)”.
Shabbat time are displayed wrong! one hour too late
I prepared a Calendar for אשדוד (Ashdod, Israel), but all the candleLighting/MotzeShabbat times are wrong in summertime! one hour too late (!).
On the website, they're displayed correctly (including summer time). but in the ICS file, you apparently added another hour for the second time!
it seems YOU ADD SUMMER-TIME TWICE!
e.g. it gives the coming shabbat to start at 20:19... instead of 19:19
Google Calendar is not accepting the G-Cal URL or iCal URL
Im trying to add the Hebcal URL but google is not accepting it or adding a new calendar. Did google change something?
Thank You!
Hi, sorry about that, we have removed Palm support from Hebcal. PalmOS devices were discontinued in 2011 and it's time for us to discontinue our support as well.
