Shalom Michael,

I would like to call your attention to a missing Israeli national holiday in your Hebcal holiday list. Specifically I am referring to Yom HaAliyah. It is Israel's newest national holiday.

Yom HaAliyah should be listed in HebCal on the10th of the Hebrew month of Nisan. The 10th of Nisan is when the Torah says Joshua crossed the Jordan with all of Am Yisrael at Gilgal, and that is the official date of the new Israeli national holiday according to the bill passed by the Knesset on June 21st, 2016.

I don't know if you want to add it also, but the Yom HaAliyah bill mandates that schools in Israel also teach about Aliyah on the 7th of Cheshvan near Lech Lecha because on the official Yom HaAliyah date of the 10th of Nisan, the schools are not in session.

I included "proof" references for you below. Some examples from major news sources on Yom HaAliyah as 10th of Nisan a few days before Pesach here:

MK Micki Zohar in Knesset on the passing of Yom HaAliyah into law:

To copy/paste the Yom HaAliyah bill's first clause "of course its in Hebrew:

מטרתו של חוק זה לקבוע יום ציון שנתי להכרה בחשיבותה של העלייה לארץ ישראל כבסיס לקיומה של מדינת ישראל, להתפתחותה ולעיצובה כחברה רב תרבותית, ולציון מועד הכניסה לארץ ישראל שאירע ביום י' בניסן

Thank you for adding this. It is crucial as many public calendars use and trust your website when setting their dates.

I would like to input more than 6 dates into a personalized birthday/yahrzeit calendar. Is there a way of adding more than 6 and if so please guide me on how to.

Thanks!

I was using hebcal as part of a study into calendar chronology.
I prefer the old search method of keying in a go-to year
instead of the new click on previous or next year.

Michael -- did you change the format for the shabbat page?  I think this is the reason why people are complaining that the widget stopped working.  It may take a while for me to figure out what my widget was actually doing and fix it.  Also, I see you added a geo lookup.  I wanted to do that years ago but couldn't figure it out.

In prior years I have been able to formulate a list with all the relevant dates, events, times, etc. This year, every time I click on the List button, not only do my changes disappear, but nothing shows up for me to copy and paste into my file. I wrote to the author, but haven't heard back yet ... and the New Year is upon us ... I didn't even see most of my changes on the calendar format -- I would be delighted to type in the dates and times myself, were they listed in the calendar ...

Help ... ??

Thank you.

Is it possible to add your Hebrew date (Hebrew & transliterated English) scripts to my Facebook page? To my Blogspot.com page? Thanks.

There's a new online Tikkun at http://www.tikkun.io/. As a ba'al koreh it would be extremely helpful if your links for the individual aliyot could link to the aliyot at tikkun.io

Would it be possible to read locale,tz information from my request and default to "Israel holiday schedule" instead of defaulting to "Diaspora holiday schedule"? Currently when I click Get Calendar it always uses "Diaspora" and then I need to change it.

Alternatively, please just default to Israel since it is now the world's largest Jewish Community.

Thanks
