November 30 is showing "Mevarchim."

Should it be "Machar Chodesh?"

Thanks

Thanks for your message!

The Hebrew Date Converter page for Sat, 30 November 2024 correctly lists the Torah portion as Parashat Toldot

If you look at the Parashat Toldot detail page, you will see that indeed it already lists the special Machar Chodesh Haftarah

Thank you. I saw that the scriptural texts were correct but I thought that Hebcal showed "Machar Chodesh" in place of "Mevarchim" on the face of the calendar when appropriate. I use many different calendars and some make this substitution. I probably just misremembered.

I don't have anything to to with Heb Cal development, I'm only a simple user who came across your question.

Thanks yes, 11/302024. The following day is Rosh Chodesh Kislev and some calendars note "Shabbat Machar Chodesh" instead of "Mevarchim" when Rosh Chodesh falls on Sunday.  I thought that you were doing that also at one time.

a. I think you should add what year.

b. If you are referring to Nov 30. 2024, Parshat תולדות, I don't understand your question.

"Mevarchim" is שבת before Rosh Chodesh (excusing the shabbat before Rosh Hashana).

"Machar Chodesh" is the Haftara that is read if Rosh Chodesh is on Sunday [unless Shabbat is also Rosh Chodesh].

On Shabbatot that the Haftara is "Machar Chodesh" you also add Bircat Mevarchim therefore it is "Mevarchim" as it is before Rosh Chodesh and the answer to your question is a simple "no". (I would add that Rosh Hashana will never be on a Sunday, so you can't have מחר חודש Haftara on the last Shabbat of Elul]),
