Cannot edit existing Yahrtzeit Calendar

Thanks for posting the screenshot. That indeed looks like it may be a pre-August 2020 subscription. You can confirm this by checking the calendar subscription details and examining the URL.

On iOS, open Calendar. Tap Calendars > the Info button ⓘ > Subscription Details

In the "Subscribed To" section, you will see a URL that contains download.hebcal.com (see screenshot below)

If the URL begins with download.hebcal.com/export/... or it begins with download.hebcal.com/v2/y/... then it is from before August 2020 and the calendar feed cannot be edited.

If the URL starts with download.hebcal.com/v3/... then it is from after August 2020 and should be editable.

Can I bother you one more time? I created a new Yahrzeit calendar and subscribed to it using iCal. But not all the events are showing up and it seems very random. For example, some don't begin to display until a few years from now, some aren't displaying at all. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, since the calendar seems to have been successfully created. I don't know what to do about this. Thank you.

Thanks. I checked and as you suggested, the url begins with download.hebcal.com/export/ so I guess I’m out of luck. I guess what I’ll do is create a new yahrtzeit calendar with all the names I need on it and then unsubscribe from the old ones. If only people would stop dying! 😢

This situation arises when you use a different web browser or device to visit hebcal.com from the device or browser you used to create your personal yahrzeit calendar. The calendar ID is stored in a web browser cookie, a small file placed on your device. Cookies are not transferred when you switch web browsers (for example, from Chrome to Firefox) or when you switch devices (for example, you first visited hebcal.com from a computer, then later visit from a mobile phone).

If you have a yahrzeit calendar feed in iCal (as you describe above), it should be possible to recover and edit your yahrzeit calendar using option 1 ("I have a Hebcal calendar feed subscription") described on this web page:

Thank you, Michael. Unfortunately, it didn't really help. I don't have a link at the bottom of my Yahrzeit events. The attached screenshot is what my events look like. Is this because I created my Yahrtzeit calendars before 2020?
Also, I have no idea what browser I used when creating the calendars, it was just too long ago! It was probably Sarafi, but I can't know for sure.
Is there some other way around this issue?
