chovetz chaim calednar bug (shows xx's on some days). Hebrew months displayed at the top?

mrculber 10 months ago updated by Michael J. Radwin 10 months ago 9

Bs"D. Note that i checked the chovetz chaim box with the tehillim box. also, is there a way to have the Hebrew months displayed at the top instead of Gregorian (Jan, Feb, etc)? even if i check the box "Hebrew year" or "Israeli holiday schedule" it doesn't show when i go to "print." I'd like the calendar to display at the top "Shevat 5784, Adar, etc" . thanks Baruch Hashem

We have also finished adding the Hebrew month names to the calendar results page for all languages (not just English)

BH thanks. please consider a tzadikim yahrzeit/hiloula check box, I know it'd be a lot of work to track down all those dates but G-d should help your team. shavua tov, G-d bless you all. thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't have the knowledge to be able to compile a list of tzadikim.

You might find a list on another website, for example https://dailyzohar.com/tzadikim/

If you have a list as a CSV file, you can import it into Hebcal using these instructions

Thanks for the screenshot and the URL. It appears the problem is with Hebrew in the PDF when printing. We'll look into a fix for this.

Fixed the XX problem by removing the Hebrew from PDF (which also shortens the text and makes it fit better on the printed page). It's still in the calendar feed in the description field.

Started

We're having trouble finding the xx's bug on the Chofetz Chaim calendar. Can you send a screenshot or a URL where you observe the problem?

We've begun the work to add the Hebrew months next to the Gregorian months. It's currently implemented only in English (e.g. Sephardic and Ashkenazic transliterations). We need to do some further work to enable this for Hebrew and other languages (Spanish, German, French, Russian, Polish, etc)

another idea i thought of to improve the already amazing hebcal is adding yahrzeit/hiloula check box for well know tzadikim (Moshe rebeinu, Hida, Rambam, Arizal, Rama, Rav Kook, ROY, etc.) עליהם השלום

BH, thanks so much for this chizuk

Shalom. thanks. yes,  "Tevet / Sh'vat 5784" next to or under the Gregorian month would be helpful

Under review

Thanks for the bug report on the Chofetz Chaim calendar. We will investigate.

Regarding displaying Hebrew months at the top, sorry, we don't have that option. Because the website provides Jewish holiday calendars in the context of the Gregorian calendar, the primary way of displaying months is via the Gregorian calendar. We might be able to modify the website so a month display like "February 2023" also displays "Tevet / Sh'vat 5784" next to or under the Gregorian month. Would that help?
