Jewish + US local holidays
Is it possible to include both Jewish holidays as well as US National holidays for a download to print the calendar?
I tried but did not succeed. Only Jewish days were marked...
Hi, thanks for your message, and thanks for using Hebcal!
If you'd like to show US holidays on a calendar alongside Hebcal events, we'd recommend downloading from Hebcal into a calendar application such as Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar (on macOS or iOS).
You'll find instructions on how to download here: https://www.hebcal.com/home/category/import
Hi, thanks for your message!
To learn about the Hebrew calendar, we suggest this excellent introduction from Judaism 101:
Hebrew Calendar Calculator
Dear Jebcal Jewish Calendar Staff:
I am currently interested in the Hebrew Calendar Calculator.
Is there any way I can download yours?
This is an excellent tool.
Sometimes I just do not have Internet and would like to still be able to use the
Hebrew Calendar Calculator locally without an internet connection.
Thank you much in advance.
Sincerely,
Dwight

Pinchas when Shabbat is the 17th of Tammuz
When the 17th of Tammuz falls on Shabbat, the fast is delayed until Sunday. In 2019 Parashat Pinchas is read on such a Shabbat, so the haftarah read is the one for Pinchas and not the one for the first Shabbat in the Three Weeks. But on the Hebcal website it thinks that Pinchas falls after the 17th of Tammuz this year (see https://www.hebcal.com/sedrot/pinchas) so it indicates the wrong haftarah.
Not showing as calendar in settings
Hebcal shows up on my google calendar (when accessed on computer) It also shows up on my android phone, but it is duplicated. The problem is that Hebcal DOES NOT show up under setting in either place and so there is no way to uninstall it. It's just....there, but not listed as one of my calendars.
Hi Howie, thanks for using Hebcal!
Yes, we're still working on this product - it's a free product, so we can offer some limited support.
Add the 18 minutes for shabat to really start
I downloaded the calendar for Google Calendar and now I only have the starting times for Shabat, there used to be an 18 minute entry in my calendar, where I could see when shabbat really starts. Please put it back.
Hi, thanks again for your feedback. After experimenting with an 18-minute event many years ago, and later a 1-minute event (2014), we changed the Candle lighting and Havdalah events to be 0-minute duration starting in September 2015 to be consistent with how other calendars represent an instant in time.
There should be included the times for starting and ending Fasts and other minor hollidays
All the minor hollidays don't have the times where they start or end, specially fasts, it just appears on my Google Calendar as being the whole day.
Fast start and end times are now provided for major fast (Tish’a B’Av) and minor fasts (Ta’anit Esther, Tzom Gedaliah, Tzom Tammuz, Asara B’Tevet, & Ta’anit Bechorot). Minor fasts begin at alot hashachar (when the sun is 16.1° below the horizon in the morning) and end when 3 medium-sized stars are observable in the night sky (when the sun is 7.083° below the horizon in the evening). Tish’a B’Av fast begins at sundown and ends when 3 medium-sized stars are observable.
