Add Yarzeit to Calendar

Elliot 7 years ago 0

How do I add yarzeits to a Hebcal -- so that the yarzeit shows up on the calendar like a holiday, etc.?

Leyning coordinators can download these Comma Separated Value (CSV) files and import into Microsoft Excel or some other spreadsheet program. These include Triennial readings for past years and future years.

Error in May and June 2020.

It seems that the month of "Sivan" has been replaced with "Nissan" erroneously.

Hi, thanks for using Hebcal!

We don't see the error - could you explain which day in May or June is incorrectly shown as ניסן when in fact it's supposed to be סיון

Yom HaAliyah is garbled on website and calendar

BenF 7 years ago updated by Michael J. Radwin 5 years ago 6

The HebCal diaspora holiday calendar lists Yom HaAliyah as the 7th of Cheshvan. As explained on the website:

Yom HaAliyah (Aliyah Day) (Hebrew: יום העליה) is an Israeli national holiday celebrated annually on the seventh of the Hebrew month of Cheshvan, to commemorate the historic events which happened on the tenth of the Hebrew month of Nisan (Hebrew: י’ ניסן).

 https://www.hebcal.com/holidays/yom-haaliyah

This is incorrect. As is clearly stated in both of the references on that page (Am Yisrael Foundation and Wikipedia), the holiday is in fact 10 Nisan. Because of the proximity of Yom HaAliyah to Pesach, the Israel Ministry of Education sponsors Yom HaAliyah programs in schools on 7 Cheshvan

Please change the date of Yom HaAliyah on the HebCal diaspora holiday calendar from 7 Cheshvan to 10 Nisan, and correct the holiday page on the website.

Hello, thanks for using Hebcal. The 11 of Sivan begins Thursday night at sundown, and the majority of 11 Sivan is in fact on Friday.
